Stepping to another plane (or same plane) using Stepping of the World Gate while tapped into a font doesn't disconnect you from that font. You can continue to use that font's mana but stepping inside or onto an adjacent tile removes that connection.
Stepping of the Stone probably has the same interaction but unable to test it atm.
