Wolf pets not attacking

Post by Soreen »

My wolf rev #8582 is having issues with wolf pets not attacking. This is different from a previous thread I created, which I believe was an all-around issue with pets needing their stance reset when summoned on the same tile as something to attack: https://nexusclash.com/viewtopic.php?p=10939#p10939

In this case, wolf pets are attacking some non-faction players and not attacking others despite being summoned on a different tile and/or having their stances reset.

Summoning the pets on-site, they attacked 2 of the 3 non-faction players on the tile:
- You give a loud howl that reverberates throughout the surrounding land, calling out to your bloodkin, the wolves. Soon, 3 wolves appear to heed your call. You spent 30 Magic Points . (2022-09-14 11:34:35).
- Cardamom, a Wolf, belonging to Cinnamon, attacked Chromacraft, killing them! (2022-09-14 11:34:52).
- Your pet Nutmeg, a Wolf, attacked Dark-Eyed Junco and hit for 6 points of piercing damage. You gain 6 experience points! Her armor soaked 5 points of damage. (2022-09-14 11:36:53).
After they didn't attack the 3rd player, I reset their stance:
- You have changed the stance of all of your pets to Passive. (2022-09-14 11:37:30).
- You have changed the stance of all of your pets to Aggressive to Non-Faction. (2022-09-14 11:37:33).
No luck, so I stepped outside, moved 1 tile over, summoned a new pack, and re-entered the tile:
- You step outside of Stone Pyramid. (2022-09-14 11:37:56).
- You give a loud howl that reverberates throughout the surrounding land, calling out to your bloodkin, the wolves. Soon, 4 wolves appear to heed your call. You spent 30 Magic Points . (2022-09-14 11:38:00).
- You step inside Stone Pyramid. (2022-09-14 11:38:13).
Still no attacks so I reset their stance as a group and individually:
- You have changed the stance of all of your pets to Passive. (2022-09-14 11:51:57).
- You have changed the stance of all of your pets to Aggressive to Non-Faction. (2022-09-14 11:52:02).
- You have changed the stance of your pet Nutmeg, a Wolf to Aggressive to Non-Faction. (2022-09-14 11:52:53).
- You have changed the stance of your pet Clove, a Wolf to Aggressive to Non-Faction. (2022-09-14 11:52:55).
- You have changed the stance of your pet Cardamom, a Wolf to Aggressive to Non-Faction. (2022-09-14 11:53:00).
- You have changed the stance of your pet Tumeric, a Wolf to Aggressive to Non-Faction. (2022-09-14 11:53:02).
But alas, still nothing! Perhaps they're afraid to die on this IB's aura (ID# 13290 if it's helpful), but that shouldn't hold them back based on the mechanics.

Can confirm, the wolves ate most of the inhabitants my Lich (14048) was looking at through invisible eyes. They don't seem to be attacking the not-in-the-same-faction-as-the-Revenant IB nor the Horrid Tentacles which are in yet another faction, nor my skellingtons.

Also, interesting that you can re-stance them as the wiki suggests this shouldn't be possible.

You can click the button to Passive/Defensive/etc and get the confirmation message, but they remain "Non-faction" in the Stance drop down. That only works when changing the stance for all though, "Non-faction" is the only option in the individual drop downs.

Can confirm. They definitely ignore NPCs and then some.
