What exactly do you mean by "slowed"? Some specific status effect or effects, or any circumstances that increase AP cost of actions?

Another option would be to add a new faction setting and allow each faction to decide if they want to show such hints and to whom (everyone, allies, friends, faction members, members above X rank, etc).

This makes some sense for outsiders (although some factions might want to reveal such details publicly), but I was thinking more about faction members . Faction ranks can be renamed to arbitrary labels, but game interface does not display in any way what each rank name actually means. This is perhaps a niche case, but I think it would be useful to be able to filter the big list on "Factions" page by various faction properties: level, alignment, open/close, renown, your faction's stance to each faction, etc.
