So i'm looking at making Grimnir a Divine Herald. In NW he was a Divine Champion, but i'm looking at going a bit more combatty with him in this one.
I've started him off as a healer, and i'll be going on Wanderings (as someone with the name Grimnir should) to help and do whatever with, but i'm not sure what else to do with him.
Looking at a Divine Herald, i'm thinking of taking both Archery and Melee, and none of the repair skills (i'll be grabbing both innates, so why bother?)
Don't listen to Sihoiba, he always tries to make Defensive Stance sound like a bad choice. Personally, I appreciate that even characters with a 100% hit chance miss 33% of the time, with the chances of them hitting you falling even further from there.
Works well with Harbinger when you've got crap for soak and you're in a live combat. Not enough MP, no problem, Harbinger of Death makes up for that. _________________ Eistibus - Shadow Shaper (Wizard, Eternals)
PolterGhost - Still Human (Divine Herald, Garden of Petra)
Zecheriah - Battle Butler (Wyrm Master, Scarlet Devil Mansion)

Actually I'd say it does work well for a tanky character, it makes a difference I did the maths. My problem is when playing a relatively untanky character, if you get into live combat you've got to stop activate the skill, and then proceed to attack, and most live combat tends to be over very very quickly, often by the time you've activated the skill your already pretty much dead.
It'll definitely help when fighting pets though, and if you've got enough 70CP left anyway for Strength and Harbinger of War no reason to not get it.
Harbinger of Death is much more useful when killing multiple targets (say on raids), when you'll be making enough kills to afford to reactivate abilities.
Pets alone make Defensive Stance worth it. If you expect to ever meet any petmasters the skill is worth the cost. You can also use it in active combat by running away. Activate while your attacker follows, proceed to win everything. It doesn't have the fatal flaw all debuffs do since you don't need your attacker to be present to activate it.
